Lay Leadership 2023

Attached is an up-to-date contact list of Lay leadership of the Fair View Church.  If you would like to know who to get information about what is going on in these areas of the ministry we do here at Fair View these are the people you can get in touch with.

Nathan Finsel

Senior Minister

Nathan Finsel felt God’s calling into ministry at the early age of 16. He quickly became active in ministry at his home church, where he served as a youth leader in the Youth Group and as Youth Representative.  After graduating from high school, he attended Pfeiffer University and majored in Youth Ministry, Christian Education, and Religion.  While attending Pfeiffer, he was active in campus ministries and even served as Vice President of Religious Life Council.  He also pursued his passion for youth ministry at New London UMC as their Youth Minister.  It was during these years that he met his wife and helper in ministry, Jessica Finsel.

Nathan continued his education at Hood Theological Seminary. While going to seminary, Nathan found his first appointment at Memorial UMC in Monroe, NC.  He led that congregation faithfully for two years while finishing his degree and then was appointed to the small mountain town of Murphy, where he served a two-point charge. More recently, Nathan served at Trinity UMC in Kannapolis as the Associate Minister of the Youth and Family Ministries, where he served faithfully, as God used him to help grow the hearts and minds of the youth of the community.

“I have always had a great passion for youth and families.  I love sharing my faith and doing life together with people as we explore what God has in store for us all.”
In July of 2020, Nathan was appointed to Fair View UMC to serve as our Senior Pastor.

“God is always active and alive in those that seek him.  I pray that as we seek God together, we may see the transformational power of God in our own lives and the lives of those around us.”

While pursuing the ministry, Nathan and his wife have had four wonderful children and work daily to pass on their love for God to them.  Nathan has a passion for God and a deep desire to share his faith with all people no matter where they are in their journey of faith.

Jill Lowe

Office Manager

Jill Lowe, a Mooresville native and resident, earned a B. A. in History in 1989 from UNC-Charlotte, having graduated from Mooresville Senior High School in 1983.  Over the course of her career, she found that her work's passion involves administration, and in her free time, outreach ministry work.
Today, she devotes much of her time to Felicity Manor, a ministry outreach to  widows and widowers, which she founded. She also operates the Maidens and Matrons Boutique, which supplies undergarments and feminine hygiene to women in need, and lastly, she serves on the board of Freedom Connections, a community outreach church based in Mooresville.  She loves that her role as Office Manager allows her to participate in the weekly Upper Room Bible Study.  In her free time, she enjoys taking short day trips, shopping and working in the yard.   She and her husband, Robbie have 2 adult children and 6 grandchildren.

Patty Brotherton

Youth Minister

Patty has been involved in student ministry since 2010, beginning as a Sunday School teacher for elementary age kids. She is responsible for organizing and directing varied youth activities and sharing Christ’s teaching to the next generation of students.  As a member of Fair View since 2001, she has been able to watch young students grow into the young adults they are today.  She is originally from upstate NY and has been in the area for over 25 years.  She works as a Senior Accountant at Ingersoll Rand where she’s been employed for 24 years.  She plays bass  for the 10:00am service. Her favorite hymn is How Great Thou Art, and favorite contemporary song is anything  from artists Crowder, Casting Crowns, Need to Breathe, or Chris Tomlin, just to name a few.
She is married to husband Eddie, and they have 2 awesome teen children, Michael and Katherine; and a dog, Smokey.  When not attending soccer games or gymnastic meets with her kids, Patty enjoys decorating for events, watching HGTV and drinking tasty coffee.

Joel Everett

Music Minister

Joel Everett is the Music Minister where he conducts the Choir and Hand bell Ensemble during Sunday services and special events.  Outside of Fair View, he is the Assistant Conductor of Salem Community Orchestra, an active keyboardist and percussionist in a variety of ensembles, and an Emmy award- winning composer.  He holds a degree in Music Composition from Columbia College Chicago.  A favorite verse of his may be found from Psalm 127:1 – “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”

Kimi Stutts

Communications and Technology Minister

Serving as the Nusery minister, Kimberley Stutts oversees hiring and scheduling of  Nursery Care workers to watch after your children while you worship. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and has more than 10 years’ experience in a childcare setting. The nursery staff is CPR and First Aid certified and has experience with children - infant through teenagers!
Most Sundays, you can find her in the tech booth assisting with projections and sound. Her son is often found playing and learning about Jesus and God in the nursery while she helps run the service. She loves Jesus and loves teaching children about Him and helping them learn just how much He loves us too!
Danyel Williams

Danyel Williams & Krystal Davis

Danyel Williams is 34 years old and lives in Statesville with her husband, James, her 11-year old son, Reese, and two bonus children, Hope(14) and Peyton (12).  They have been members of Fair View since 2014.  She started volunteering with children's ministries that same year. She fell in love with helping children grow in their faith and love for Jesus. Danyel has been a Den Leader and Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 174 in Troutman from 2016 till 2021 when her son crossed over to Troop 174.  She worked in a daycare facility for three years and has numerous years under her belt as a volunteer at her son's school.

Krystal Davis is mommy to Brooklynn (10). She grew up in New Jersey but spent summers here in Mooresville where she attended Fair View. Krystal has been attending regularly since 2008 and volunteering with Children's Ministry since. She has a passion for seeing the children learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus while learning about all of His miracles.

In 2017, Danyel and Krystal became interim Co-Directors of Children's Ministry coming on staff full-time in Feb. 2018.

Fair View uses curriculum from Group and Cokesbury with Children's Church and Sunday School classes. The team hosts several events and get-togethers throughout the year to keep children engaged with the Ministers and the church such as Fall Festival, mission projects, Vacation Bible School in July, family movie night, bowling, Breakfast with Santa at Christmas, and more. They also strive to get together at least once a month in a social setting.  Krystal and Danyel look forward to meeting you and helping your child grow in faith.
