Fair View Quilters

There is a saying that quilters use:

“Our lives are like quilts … bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love.”

That can be said of our lives.  We all know that there are sad, darker times when it is good to know that someone is thinking of you, supporting you with prayers and love.

The Fair View Quilters have been making quilts for several years.  Our quilters are:  Sylvia Caldwell, Merlin Davis, Linda Gustafson, Ellar Hicks and Jean Newman.  We give these quilts to our area Hospice for presentation to their clients.  We can make these quilts because of the generous donations of fabrics from Westminster Fabrics as well as gifts from others.

Quilters know that it is therapeutic to design, cut, sew and quilt something that will communicate love and comfort to the recipient.

If you are interested in quilting you need no sewing skills.  You don’t even need a sewing machine since we have two at the Ballard House that you can use while you are there.  We will be happy to help you learn basic skills and you can build on those as you go.

We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each of month in the Ballard House between 9:30 and 2:30. We begin with a fellowship time, a devotion and prayers.  Please call Jean Newman at 704-663-2767 or come and see what this is all about.
